We love creating an atmosphere on and off the water, and have two amazing shows this summer! With an international headliner for our opening night alongside some kiwi classics, there is something for everyone this year.
Beach Clean Up
We love watersports which means we love the water. There is nothing more important to us than protecting the beautiful beaches we have so that they can be preserved for generations to come. Along with the help of our amazing volunteers we challenge everyone to make sustainability something we live by. Join us in our efforts to protect Aotearoa.
SandCastle Competition
Sandcastle building is not for the lighthearted. Calling all adults and families to bring your competitive spirit, vivid imaginations and all your dreams together to build a piece of temporary beauty. Will your castle reach towards the sky? Will it demonstrate sustainability and beach fun? Or will it crumble before it gets judged?
Seaside Sporting
We have a range of land and water sports to watch and participate in this Summer at Mt Maunganui Beach. Try something new, challenge yourself and have fun.
Paddle Boarding
This year Waterbourne will be hosting the 2022 EVES Stand Up Paddle Boarding Nationals, which includes the sprints, technical and distance championships. There is equipment available for students (U18) who are wanting to compete in the inflatable division.
Beach Volleyball
As part of the Beach Voleyball Tour, Waterbourne will be hosting the final event of the series as New Zealand's top athletes fight for a Commonwealth Games position.
